CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, 8 May 2026– In preparation for the upcoming rollout of the Revised Grades 6, 9, and 10 Curriculum, the Regional Office conducted a Prework Activity for Regional Trainers and members of the Program Management Team (PMT), with a focus on Grade 6 curriculum implementation.
The activity brought together Regional Trainers representing the eight learning areas: English, Filipino, Science, Mathematics, Araling Panlipunan, GMRC, MAPEH, and Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE). The session aimed to strengthen trainers’ readiness, align understanding of curriculum standards, and ensure the effective and seamless delivery of the regional training program.
DepEd Regional Director Ruth L. Fuentes graced the activity and underscored the importance of collaboration, quality facilitation, and shared commitment in ensuring the successful implementation of the revised curriculum across schools in the region. In her message, she encouraged participants to uphold excellence and promote learner-centered instruction as they prepare to cascade the training to the schools divisions and field units.
The conduct of the prework activity is a collaborative initiative of the Human Resource Development Division (HRDD) and the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD), led by Marivic D. Labitad as the Program Holder.
During the session, participants discussed the training flow, session delivery, facilitation strategies, and key updates on the revised Grade 6 curriculum. They also reviewed learning competencies, contextualized instructional approaches, and identified potential implementation challenges along with corresponding support mechanisms.
The activity forms part of the region’s continuing efforts to ensure that all trainers and PMT members are fully equipped to support teachers and schools in the transition to the revised curriculum. Through strengthened collaboration and thorough preparation, the Regional Office remains committed to delivering quality, responsive, and transformative basic education for all learners.
